When it comes to a WebOS TV, which is Linux-based, installing an APK file directly on the TV to sideload an app is not possible. I encountered this limitation while trying to install an APK file using a USB drive. The absence of a file manager on WebOS TV prevented me from sideloading the app successfully.
Open the Settings app and tap Apps & notifications. Scroll down and tap the last option that says Special app access. Select Install unknown apps on the following screen. Choose the app you’ll use to install APKs. In most cases, it’ll be either your browser or file manager. Enable the Allow from this source option. That means even if your television is a few years old, sideloading APK files should still be possible. We have all the instructions you'll need for the process at the link below. Click here to see APK stands for Android Package (sometimes Android Package Kit or Android Application Package ). It's the file format that Android uses to distribute and install apps. As a result, an APK contains all the elements that an app needs to install correctly on your device. An APK is an archive file, meaning that it contains multiple files, plus some 1- Run the emulator, and wait until it's completely started. 2- Go to your sdk installation folder then go to platform-tools (you should see an executable called adb.exe) 3- create a new file and call it run.bat, edit the file with notepad and write CMD in it and save it. 4- copy your desired apk to the same folder.
Download the apk file for the application you want to install. Copy it to an external device and insert the external device (flash disk, memory stick or any other device your smart TV can read) to the smart TV. Open ES File Explorer File Manager in your smart TV and navigate to the apk in your external device. Click it and select install.
